Data-Exchange Session 2000 Perseids

In order to exchange the overview of the observed activity concerning Perseids and to take lessens in arranging data, above Session promoted by AMOTA was held on 10th September 2000 at the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center in Tokyo. 30 participants including about 15 High School Students joined into the mentioned Session in which below programs and subjects were presented.
1. The Summary Report of Perseids 2000 from Domestic Visual and Radio Data
by Mr. Hiroshi OGAWA

Although the bad weather condition in the expected peak night, the activity of reaching ZHR 170 was obtained by visual observation in Japan.
The peak time from HRO radio observation was indicated at 13th 05h JST.

2. The Overview of Perseids 2000 from World Data
by Mr. Kouji NANIWADA

The sub earlier peak which had been observed from 1991 was not recognized in 2000. Peak time was at 11h UT on 12th according with the predicted time.

3. How to Arrange the Records Obtained from Observation.

Arranging method of "HR","CHR" and "ZHR" were explained. Based on the own actual data, arranging to "HR","CHR" and "ZHR" were practiced by each participant. The index of gamma was also deeply discussed.

4. The Guidance for Leonids in 2000

Although there will be half moon in the night of the peak,rather strong activity of Leonids may be observed this year again.

5. The Meteor Image Chopped by the Rotating Shutter Was Painted on the Stamp
by Mr. Yoshikazu WATANABE

On the stamp issued in this July from the Postal Ministry as the one of the 20C Design Series, meteor photo of the Leonids obtained in 1965 was designed.

6. Try to Research Former Book in the Library

The meteor related publishing has been almost out of print. The use of the public library will be available.

7. What's this Flash ?

The video images detected by the author on 12th August in 2000 was shown. Flash spot near Gamma And, increasingly bright and decreasingly dark, appeared and disappeared.
