The 74th AMOTA Meeting

The 74th AMOTA General Meeting where about 50 participants joined was held at the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center in Tokyo on 17th June 2001.
The Meteor Orientation 2001 for Perseids and the Lecture Meeting by Dr. David ASHER of the Bisei Space Guard Center were also included as below.

1.AMOTA General Meeting

1-1.Repots of Lyrids and Eta Aquarids 2001 By Mr. Kanryu SERIZAWA
As the bad weather condition in Japan, not so enough observed data was gathered from Japan for both Lyrids and Eta Aquarids in 2001. As same as the average year or the rather weak activity were reported.

1-2.The Activity of the shower associated with P/SW3 By Mr. Takema HASHIMOTO
Expected activity was not observed this year in Japan.


2. The Meteor Orientation 2001 for Perseids

2-1.The Guidance of the Meteor Observation for Perseids By Mr. Kouji NANIWADA
How to observe Perseids and the Condition of it were presented.

2-2. The Technic for Video Camera Observation By Mr.FUJINO
Equipment for Video Camera Observation was shown. This method for meteor observation has become popular in Japan in these some years, because the low price high sensitivity camera was widely supplied.


3. The Lecture Meeting for NEA and the great activity of Leonids 2001 By Dr. David ASHER of the Bisei Space Guard Center

The activity of the Bisei Space Guard Center and the expected great storm of Leonids 2001 were lectured.
Especially the great activity of Leonids 2001 expected by the lecturer deeply attracted with interests. The theory of the estimation and the forecast for Leonids were also presented.
